JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area March 3 - 9, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Route VV – Culvert replacements planned March 4 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route HH – Roadside work planned March 5 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. Interstate 70 – New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63 through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.
Callaway County
Route Z – Culvert replacement planned March 3 - 7 from Route JJ to County Road 115. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
I-70 – Work under the railroad bridge in Kingdom City continues. One lane of I-70, in both directions, will be closed nightly 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Saturday, between mile markers 147.4 and 148, immediately west of U.S. Route 54. Nightly lane closures will continue through the end of March.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line (near mile marker 136.6) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Camden County
Route D – Culvert replacements planned March 3 - 7 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route D – Pavement improvements scheduled to begin March 3 on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Route MM – Toll booth removal continues. Route MM will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
Cole County
Route B – Bridge maintenance planned March 3 - 6 over Moreau River bridge near Wardsville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S Route 54 – Overhead sign replacements planned nightly March 4 - 7 between Route W (Airport Road) and Missouri Route 179.
Cooper County
Route Z – Brush cutting planned March 3 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route W – Culvert replacement planned March 6 from Route J to end of state maintenance. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crawford County
I-44 – Pavement repairs planned March 3 - 7, westbound only, from mile marker 224 in Sullivan to Exit 214 west of Bourbon.
Missouri Route 8 – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 from Route HH to KP Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 49 – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 from Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route YY – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 from Route M to Burley Ridge Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Dent County
Route C – Shoulder work planned March 3 from Route H to Missouri Route 32. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Brush cutting planned March 3 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work continues at Standing Rock Creek, south of Route N, as part of a bridge replacement project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in May 2025.
Howard County
Routes H and O – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
Missouri Route 5 – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 at Route HH. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route CC – Roadside work planned March 3 - 7 at Route C. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
Route P – Culvert replacement planned March 5 at Route 179. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3 p.m
Morgan County
Missouri Route 52 – Pavement work continues in Versailles between Fairgrounds Road and Missouri Route 5 as part of the intersection improvement project at Route 52 and Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2025.
Osage County
U.S. Route 63 – Core drilling planned March 3 - 7 from Missouri Route 133 to County Road 501. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 89 – Pavement repairs planned March 3 - 7 from Route HH to Route FF. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
Route T – Roadside work planned March 4 - 7 from County Road 7490 to Route P. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Pulaski County
I-44 – Roadside work planned March 3 at Exit 163. The westbound on-ramp will be CLOSED 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Route C – Culvert replacement planned March 3 - 7 in the city limits of Dixon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Route C – Culvert replacement planned March 3 - 7 at Route JJ. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation scheduled to begin March 3 over the Union Pacific Railroad. Route 8 will remain open throughout the project but will be narrowed to one lane at times. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2025.
