ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin a multi-year intersection improvement project on U.S. Route 59 and Alabama Street (Missouri Route 752 and Buchanan County Route U) this spring in St. Joseph. A project information session will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at Hosea Elementary School, 6401 Gordon Ave., St. Joseph, MO 64504. Attendees are welcome to come any time between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. to learn more about the project, traffic impacts, detours, and timing. There will be no formal presentation.
The project will change the current layout of the Route 59 and Alabama intersection by realigning roadways and driveways, adding turn lanes, sidewalks, storm drainage and more.
