MoDOT to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Route 72 Bridge Project in Iron County

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 to discuss upcoming improvements to the Route 72 bridge over Stouts Creek in Iron County. The meeting will be held at Arcadia Valley Schools in the Middle School/High School Cafeteria, located at Park Drive in Ironton, Mo.

"Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with a member of the project team and provide their comments," said Project Manager Jason Williams.

The project includes replacing the Route 72 bridge over Stouts Creek, located east of Arcadia, Mo. Three alternates will be shared during the meeting. Two of the alternates include constructing the bridge on a new alignment—either to the north or south of the existing structure. The other includes replacing the bridge on the existing alignment, which would result in a road closure during construction.

The project is expected to be awarded in 2018, with construction underway in summer 2018.
