MoDOT Holds Public Meeting to Discuss New Connector Road in Perryville

SIKESTON, MO-The City of Perryville will soon have more opportunity for development at its industrial park. Plans are underway to construct a connector road from Route 51 to Route 61 in Perryville. The City of Perryville will fund half of the improvements.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to discuss the upcoming project from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Perry Park Center, located at 800 City Park Dr. in Perryville.

"Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details of the improvements with a member of the project team and provide their comments," said MoDOT Project Manager Eric Krapf.

The proposed project includes constructing the connector road from Route 51 to Route 61 with an at-grade intersection at Route V. The project is expected to be awarded to a contractor in Nov. 2015, with construction beginning in spring 2016. Improvements are expected to be completed in fall 2016.

Traffic on Route V will be impacted during work to construct the intersection, and contractors will be crossing the route with equipment. In addition, minor delays should be expected as tie-ins are completed on Route 61 and Route 51.
