Safe & Sound Community Briefing in Wayne County

SIKESTON- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing to discuss an upcoming project to replace the Route P bridge over Gribler Creek in Wayne County. The briefing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. in MoDOT's Puxico Maintenance Shed, 240 Highway 51 South.

"Those interested in the project can stop by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the plans with a member of the Safe & Sound team," said Southeast Regional Field Engineer Andy Meyer.

The project will be completed through the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. The program will improve over 800 of the state's lowest-rated bridges by winter 2013.

Work on the Route P bridge could begin as early as March 2011.  As construction is underway, the roadway will remain closed.
