UPDATED TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Reduction on Westbound I-44/Route 43 Bridge in Joplin Jan. 15 & 16

Editors: This updates the dates on which the work will be done.  We apologize for any confusion.

Where: Westbound I-44/Missouri Route 43 (Hearnes Boulevard) bridge in Joplin at Mile Marker 6

When:

  • 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 14 until 6 a.m., Wednesday, January 15
  • 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 15 until 6 a.m., Thursday, January 16

What: Contractor crews working to repair bridge deck/driving surface on westbound passing (left) lane of bridge

Traffic Impacts:

  • Westbound I-44 reduced to one lane over Route 43 (Hearnes Boulevard) in Joplin at Mile Marker 6 during nighttime hours
  • All westbound I-44 lanes OPEN during daytime hours
  • All eastbound I-44 lanes OPEN at all times
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers should find alternate routes
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
