MoDOT Holds Community Briefing for I-55/Route 84 Project at Hayti

SIKESTON - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational community briefing regarding improvements to the Interstate 55/Route 84 interchange at Hayti. The meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hayti City Hall, 300 E. Broadway.

The meeting will have an open-house format, meaning visitors can stop by to talk one-on-one with a member of the project team anytime between 4 and 6 p.m.  No formal presentation will be given.

The project will include replacing the pavement on the I-55 northbound on ramp, the I-55 southbound off ramp and on either side of the Route 84 overpass bridge. Additionally, the signals and overhead signs will be replaced.

As work on the ramps is underway there will be minimal impacts to traffic. However, improvements to Route 84 will have more significant impacts to traffic.

"To help minimize the inconvenience to Route 84 travelers, the contractor will be required to work overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.," said Project Manager Eric Krapf.
