CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge repair operations on northbound US-169 and Cookingham Drive starting on approximately Monday, January 20 until Saturday, February 22. All work is weather permitting.
There will be 2 main phases for traffic on northbound US-169 during operations:
Phase one: Close US-169 NB at the exit to I-435 and direct all NB traffic onto the exit ramp. Motorists can continue north on the exit ramp to remain on US-169 NB or take other exits.
Phase two: Close the exit ramp from 169 NB to I-435 and have all NB traffic continue on NB US-169.
The following applies to both phases: Traffic on Cookingham Drive will be reduced by one lane in each direction. Exits from I-435 will not be affected.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
