Upcoming Route 72 Bridge Replacement in Madison County

Notice of Opportunity for Public Meeting

SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace a bridge located on Route 72 over Turkey Creek in Madison County. This structure is located between County Road 529 and Route K.

Work to replace the bridge could begin as early as spring 2026. Construction will be staged to allow the roadway to remain open as work is underway. Short-term closures are anticipated during traffic shifts and as beams are set.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to District Engineer Mark Croarkin at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025.
