Closure of Route V Bridge Over North Timber Creek in Adair County

HANNIBAL – Today the Missouri Department of Transportation closed the bridge on Route V in Adair County, over North Timber Creek, located approximately 0.9 mile south of Missouri Route 6 near Brashear. During a routine bridge inspection, increased deterioration and deficiencies were found contributing to the decision to close the bridge.

The timber pile bridge, built in 1932, carries an average of 265 vehicles daily. It is currently included in the 2025-2029 Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) and scheduled to be under contract by February 2025, pending action by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.  It will remain closed until it is replaced. Signs will be in place notifying motorists of the closure.  Please use alternate routes.
