Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Nov. 25 - Dec. 1, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the midMissouri area Nov. 25 Dec. 1, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.   

Most routine work zones will stop for the Thanksgiving holiday, but some long-term work zones and closures will remain in place. If possible, work zones will stop at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and could resume the morning of Friday, Nov. 29.   

 

All Counties 

Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County 

I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in December 2024.  

Route TT Upgrades to pedestrian facilities planned on Broadway between Route ZZ and Silvey Street. The work is being done by the city of Columbia. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024. 

Southbound U.S. Route 63  Pothole repair planned Nov. 26 at Route WW (Broadway) overpass. Passing (left) lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

U.S. Route 63 Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. I-70 – New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63 through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity. 

Callaway County 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity 

Camden County 

Route A – Pothole patching planned Nov. 25 – 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Cole County  

Outer Road 50 (Country Club Drive) – Pavement repair planned Nov. 25 – 26 at Hunters Run Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route B Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Moreau River near Wardsville. One lane will remain open and temporary traffic signals are in place to guide motorists through the work zoneThe project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.   

Route D – Bridge deck replacement continues over North Moreau Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED between Hunters Haven Drive and Knoll Road, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.   

Cooper County 

I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in December 2024.  

Crawford County 

Missouri Route 49 – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 27 from Missouri Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route M – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Missouri Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route N – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Missouri Route 185 (Washington County) to the city of Bourbon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route PP – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Rutz Subdivision Road to Lick Creek Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes 8 and 19 Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of Steelville. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.   

Howard County 

Missouri Route 5 – Pothole patching planned Nov. 25 – 27 from West Davis Street to Route DD. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route E – Pothole patching planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Route 5 to County Road 301. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route W – Culvert replacement planned Nov. 25 27 from County Road 400 to County Road 402. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Maries County 

Missouri Route 42 – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 27 from the city of Vienna to the city of Belle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route C – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 27 from Missouri Route 28 to Route H. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Phelps County 

Route BB – Shoulder work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Carson Street to Helen Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route BB – Shoulder work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from County Road 3110 to Vintage Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

I-44 – Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect overnight lane closures, westbound only, from U.S. Route 63 to Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The end date for the project is yet to be determined based on concrete quality issues that will need to be corrected. Pulaski County 

Routes HH and PP – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Washington County 

Route N – Roadside work planned Nov. 25 – 27 from Route 185 to the city of Bourbon (Crawford County). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
