Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for Missouri Route 79 Bridge Project

HANNIBAL –A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the bridge replacement project on Missouri Route 79, over Bear Creek, Norfolk Southern Railroad and Warren Barrett Drive in Hannibal, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15 at the Jaycee grandstand located at 320 S. 3rd Street in Hannibal.

The public is invited to attend.  The ceremony will be cancelled in case of inclement weather with no rain date.

Construction began on the project early this year to replace the bridge known as the Hannibal Viaduct. The new bridge also includes an ADA compliant shared use path for pedestrians and cyclists.

KCI Construction Company of St. Louis was the contractor on the project and designed by HNTB Corporation, St. Louis.
