MoDOT to close lane on southbound I-270 near I-64 for Conway work

ST. LOUIS – People who plan to travel on southbound Interstate 270 near Interstate 64 can expect changes in how traffic flows as crews close a southbound lane as part of on-going construction work over Conway Road.

Crews will shift the existing ramp lanes from southbound I-270 to both directions of Interstate 64 to the left.  Both southbound ramp lanes will be closed to make this switch on Friday, October 25 at 10 p.m. The detour for the ramp closure will be to continue southbound, take the Manchester exit to cross over the interstate and continue northbound on I-270.

When the switch is complete on Saturday, October 26, by 5 a.m.  southbound I-270 will have three through lanes past the I-64 ramps, while the fourth lane will be dedicated to traffic exiting to I-64.

Crews are working on the exit ramps as part of the continued work to replace the I-270 bridge over Conway. Drivers should be aware of increased congestion in this area due to the continuing work.  Drivers can expect at least one lane to remain closed on southbound I-270 until the end of the project in late 2025.
