Where: Roundabout at Missouri Route 43 and Missouri Route 96 in Jasper County north of Joplin
When: 7 p.m., Sunday, October 6 until 7 a.m., Monday, October 7
What: Contractor crews removing old pavement and laying new surface in roundabout
Traffic Impacts:
- Roundabout at Route 43 and Route 96 north of Joplin CLOSED during nighttime hours while crews are working
- Drivers should find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Drivers should expect delays
- Traffic will be directed through the work zone by flaggers at all four legs of the roundabout
- Drivers urged to watch for crews and equipment working close to traffic
- No signed detour
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
This work is in preparation for a resurfacing project on Barton County Route NN in Liberal and Missouri Route 43 between Liberal and Joplin. That project is scheduled to start later this summer.
