JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Sept. 23 - 29, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow–moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Interstate 70 ramps at Midway – Pavement repairs will CLOSE the U.S. Route 40 off-ramp at Exit 121 Sept. 23 – 24, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.
U.S. Route 63 – Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 763 (Range Line Street) to Route B. One lane of U.S. Route 63 and ramps in this area may be closed, weekdays and Saturdays. Hours of work will vary based on the location and type of work being conducted. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Missouri Routes 151, 22, and 124 intersection – Roundabout construction is in it’s final phase. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Route TT – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities planned on Broadway in the city of Columbia, between Route ZZ and Silvey Street. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Callaway County
Route A – Pavement patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from I-70 to Route B. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route J – Roadside work planned Sept. 25 from Route Y to County Road 362. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Old Jefferson City Road – Intersection improvements continue at the U.S. Route 54 crossover in Fulton. The crossover is CLOSED, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
U.S. Route 54 – Resurfacing continues from north of the Missouri River to Route OO. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning/evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through November 2024.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity
Camden County
Route F – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 24. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route N – Pothole patching planned Sept. 25. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Cole County
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 50 and McCarty Street in Jefferson City. U.S. Route 54 will remain open but is narrowed to one lane in each direction between south of the Missouri River and Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) . Width restrictions are in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Missouri Boulevard – Ramp CLOSED from Missouri Boulevard to eastbound U.S. Route 54 through October. Motorist must use an alternate route.
West Main Street – Ramp CLOSED from westbound U.S. Route 54 to West Main Street through October. Motorist must use an alternate route.
U.S. Route 50 – Ramp CLOSED from eastbound U.S. Route 54 to U.S. Route 50 (east and westbound) through October. Motorist must use an alternate route.
Route D – Bridge deck replacement continues over North Moreau Creek bridge. The road is CLOSED between Hunters Haven Drive and Knoll Road, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Cooper County
I-70 – Bridge painting continues nightly at the Lamine River bridges near mile marker 93. One lane will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Crawford County
Route H – Ramp CLOSED from Route H to westbound I-44 for shoulder work Sept. 23 – 26.
North Outer Road 44 – Milling and resurfacing planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route J to Essman Dunn Road in the city of Bourbon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 8 – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route E to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 19 – Roadside work planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Mill Springs to Missouri Route 49. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from the city limits of Cuba to Route CC. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 49 – Roadside work and pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route 19 to the Iron County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Old Route 66 – Diamond grinding planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route UU to Outer Road 44. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route E – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route 8 to Mullen Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route F – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route 19 to Route EE. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Y – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route 49 in Viburnum (Iron County) to Route V. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-44 – Resurfacing continues from just west of Cuba to the Franklin County line. One lane will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Gasconade County
Routes E, K, Z, W, and NN – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Routes KK and OO – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Howard County
Route E – Pavement repairs planned Sept. 23 – 26. The road will be CLOSED from the Adam’s Fork Creek bridge to Missouri Route 5, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route.
Route 5 – Resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 40 to Missouri Route 87. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Missouri Route 240 – Resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 40 to Route 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Route 87 – Seal coating continues from U.S. Route 40 to Route 240. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Laclede County
Route Z – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 from Cool Water Road to Route AD. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route B – Pothole patching planned Sept. 24 from Bobcat Road to Sunburst Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 64 – Bridge replacement continues at the Goodwin Hollow Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Route B – Bridge deck replacement continues at the Osage Fork Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Maries County
Missouri Route 133 – Shoulder work planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Missouri Route 42 to Missouri Route 52. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route AA – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from U.S. Route 63 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Miller County
Route 87 – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Business U.S. 54 to Salem Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes H, V and CC – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
Route 87 – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 24 – 26 from Lake View Drive to Route AA. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 24 – 26 from Route AA to Route O. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Pothole patching planned Sept. 28 – 26 from U.S. Route 50 to Route AA. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Osage County
Routes DD, HH, JJ, KK, NN, OO and RA – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Phelps County
North Outer Road 44 – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route V to Missouri Route 68. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
South Outer Road 44 (Dillion Outer Road) – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26 at Tammy Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 68 – Culvert replacement planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Route V to Matlock Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route E – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from County Road 8300 to Meadows Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag through the work zone.
Route V – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26 from Flat Grove Road to Howard Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag through the work zone.
Routes H, P, T and CC – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 8 and DD – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of St. James. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
I-44 – Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The end date for the project is yet to be determined based on concrete quality issues that will need to be corrected. I-44 – Bridge maintenance planned Sept. 22 – 26 at the Big Piney River bridge. Nightly lane closures are expected from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Route DD – Pothole patching planned Sept. 23 – 26. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 28. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Route W – Resurfacing continues from Missouri Route 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Route Y – Resurfacing continues from Lemming Lane to Heller Lane in St. Robert. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-44 – Bridge maintenance continues at mile marker 160. Nightly lane closures are expected from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Business Loop 44 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44 in St. Robert. Business Loop 44 is open but narrowed to one lane in each direction in a head-to-head configuration. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Washington County
Missouri Route 47 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over Mineral Fork Creek. Traffic is narrowed to one lane with temporary signals in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
