St. Joseph, Mo. – A project to replace the 70-year-old Shoal Creek Bridge on Caldwell County Route D is scheduled for the January 2025 contractor letting through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. The contractor may begin construction as early as spring 2025. All work must be complete on or before Dec. 1, 2025, to meet contract requirements.
Following a routine inspection on June 25, 2024, crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation closed the bridge due to deterioration. Motorists will need to continue using an alternate route until the project is complete and the bridge is reopened.
