Route W in Cape Girardeau County Reduced for Culvert Replacement, Guardrail & Pavement Improvements

SIKESTON—Route W in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform guardrail improvements, an asphalt overlay and replace a culvert under the roadway.  

  

This section of roadway is located from Route 177 to Route 61 near Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  

  

Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Aug. 20 through Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The lane restriction will only be in place during working hours. The week of Sept. 2, the roundabout near U.S. Route 61 will be closed for nightwork.  

  

Guardrail work will begin at Route 177 before heading south, with the asphalt overlay to follow. 

  

The work zone will be marked with signs.Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
