JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Aug. 5 – 11, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow–moving equipment.
Boone County
U.S. Route 63 – Pavement repair planned Aug. 5 - 6, 2 miles north of Turkey Creek bridge. One lane will remain open in each direction.
U.S. Route 63 – Pavement repair planned Aug. 7 at Rolling Hills Road. One lane will remain open in each direction.
Missouri Route 124 and Route B – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue in the city of Hallsville. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Missouri Route 163 (Providence Road) – Striping and shoulder paving continues from Route K/Old Plank Road north to Interstate 70. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge maintenance continues from Missouri Route 763 (Range Line Street) to Route B. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Business Loop 70 – Resurfacing continues. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Route M – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue between Chico Drive and Main Street in Ashland. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
I–70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Callaway County
Route J – Culvert replacements planned Aug. 5 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
I-70 – Core drilling planned Aug. 5 - 7 from mile marker 150 to mile marker 192. One lane will remain open in each direction.
Route M – Culvert replacements planned Aug. 7 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Missouri Route 94/U.S. Route 63 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 54. One lane of each overpass bridge will remain open. Westbound Route 94 to northbound U.S. Route 63 access is CLOSED at the overpass bridge and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
U.S. Route 63 – Ramp from northbound U.S. Route 63 to westbound U.S. Route 54 CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project through September 2024. A signed detour is in place.
U.S. Route 54 – Ramp from westbound U.S. Route 54 to eastbound Route 94 CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project through September 2024. A signed detour is in place.
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement repairs continue from north of the Missouri River to Route OO. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning/evening rush hours.
Old Jefferson City Road – Intersection improvements continue at the U.S. Route 54 crossover in Fulton. The crossover is CLOSED and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity
Camden County
Route A – Pavement repair scheduled Aug. 5 - 8 from U.S. Route 54 to Missouri Route 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 to Missouri Route 5 in Laclede County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route T – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route 7 – Pavement marking and guardrail work planned from Route AA to U.S. Route 65 in Benton County. Pavement marking will be a moving operation. Guardrail work in Edwards (Benton County) will require the use of temporary signals to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Cole County
Route AA – Roadside work planned Aug. 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route W – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 6 from Wilbers Lane to Tanoah Valley Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 50 – Pavement repair planned overnight Aug. 8, on the exit ramp from westbound U.S. Route 50 to Dix Road. Ramp will be closed from 6:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m, and motorist will need to use an alternate route.
Missouri Boulevard – Ramp CLOSED from Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) to eastbound U.S. Route 54 through mid-October. Motorist must use an alternate route.
U.S. Route 54 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 50 and McCarty Street in Jefferson City. U.S. Route 54 will remain open but is narrowed to one lane in each direction between south of the Missouri River and Missouri Boulevard for up to 90 calendar days. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2024.
Cooper County
Routes J, N, and Z – Pavement repair planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 – Bridge painting continues nightly at the Lamine River bridges near mile marker 93. One lane will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route O – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the Moniteau Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Crawford County
Missouri Route 19 – Pavement repair continues Aug. 5 - 8 from Winn Road to the city limits of Cuba. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 from Roanoak Road to K P Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 at Rohrer Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route E – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 from Missouri Route 8 to Moutray Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Shoulder work continues Aug. 5 - 8 from Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. A 10–foot width restriction will be in place.
Route O – Shoulder work planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route U – Roadside work planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Y – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 from Missouri Route 49 in Viburnum (Iron County) to Route V. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route JJ – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 at Railroad Street in Bourbon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route WW – Roadside work planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the I-44 overpass in Bourbon. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route 19 – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the I–44 overpass in Cuba. One lane will remain open. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-44 – Resurfacing continues from just west of Cuba to the Franklin County line. One lane will remain open. The project, which includes resurfacing, is scheduled for completion in November 2024
Routes E and H – Road resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Gasconade County
Missouri Route 28 – Guardrail work continues from Owensville to Belle in Maries County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route 19 – Bridge deck replacement continues at Frene Creek in Hermann. The road is CLOSED to all traffic with a signed detour directing motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Missouri Route 100 – Resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 50 in Osage County to Route N. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Routes E, Z, W, and NN – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Howard County
Route 5 – Roadside work planned Aug. 6 - 8 from Route V to Valley View Drive in Glasgow. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 240 – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue in the city of Fayette. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route P – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the Bonne Femme Creek Bridge in New Franklin. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route 5 – Resurfacing scheduled to begin Aug. 5 from Missouri Route 87 to Missouri Route 40 One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Route 240 – Resurfacing scheduled to begin Aug. 5 from Route 5 to Route 40. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Laclede County
Route V – Pothole patching planned Aug 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route C – Pothole patching planned Aug 6 - 7. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route VV – Pothole patching planned Aug 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 in Camden County to Route 5. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route F – Resurfacing continues from Route BB to I–44. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Route T – Resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Missouri Route 64 – Bridge replacement continues at the Goodwin Hollow Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2024.
Maries County
Route 28 – Guardrail work continues from Owensville in Gasconade County to Belle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Miller County
Missouri Route 17 – Pothole patching planned Aug. 5 - 8 from Missouri Route 42 to Route K. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Morgan County
Missouri Route 135 – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5. The road will be CLOSED from Victoria Drive to Grain Road from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route.
Routes DD and N– Road resurfacing scheduled Aug 5 - 9. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Osage County
Routes DD, KK, and OO – Pavement repair planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 100 – Resurfacing continues from U.S. Route 50 to Route N in Gasconade County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Routes FF and K– Resurfacing continues for the entirety of both routes. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Phelps County
Route E – Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 from County Road 8300 to County Road 8430. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes Y, HH and NN – Seal coating planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I–44 – Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2024.
Route F – Bridge and guardrail work continues in preparation for a pavement preservation treatment. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Pulaski County
Route HH – Seal coating planned Aug. 5. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Business Loop 44 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over I–44 in St. Robert. Crossover construction is scheduled as night work, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will shift to a head-to-head configuration and daytime work to rehabilitate the bridges. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Washington County
Route U - Culvert replacement planned Aug. 5 - 8 at Route M. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Z - Culvert replacements planned Aug. 5 - 8 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Route W – Road resurfacing planned Aug. 5 - 8. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 8 – Bridge replacement scheduled to begin over the Bates Creek Bridge. First phase of work will take place with minimal impacts to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
