Seal Coat Work Scheduled for Missouri Route 79 in Pike County

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, a seal coat project located on 20.7 miles of Missouri Route 79 in Pike County, from 0.9 mile south of U.S. Route 54 east junction, at the Noix Creek bridge at Louisiana to the Lincoln County line, is expected to begin the week of August 12.

The $1M contract, awarded this last year to W. L. Miller Company of Hamilton, IL, includes an additional seal coat project for 6 miles of Route B in Pike County, from U.S. Route 61 near Frankford to Missouri Route 79, that was completed earlier this summer. All work scheduled to be completed by September 1, 2024.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized to direct motorists through the work zone. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
