Barry County – Drivers should watch for contractor crews making sidewalk improvements and working close to traffic in Monett along several routes beginning the week of July 22, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Improvements include making curb ramps, landings, crosswalks, pedestrian signs, relocating a pedestrian crossing at the high school and pavement markings conform to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Here are the locations where the work will be done:
- U.S. Route 60 at Eisenhower Street and Northgate Avenue
- Missouri Route 37 (Central Avenue) at Lincoln Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Cleveland Avenue
- Barry County Route H at 9th Street
- Business 60 (Cleveland Avenue) at 13th Street
Traffic Impacts:
- Work will be done during daytime hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday)
- Drivers may encounter occasional lane closures and flaggers in areas where crews are working
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones
- No signed detours
- Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

- Total cost: $1.2 million
- Completion date: December 1, 2024
