MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Campbell Avenue CLOSED at night under U.S. Route 60 In Springfield

Where: Campbell Avenue CLOSED at night between Republic Road and the eastbound U.S. Route 60 ramps in Springfield

When: 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Wednesday & Thursday nights, July 17 & 18

What: Contractor will CLOSE north and southbound Campbell Avenue under U.S. Route 60 at night from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Wednesday & Thursday nights, July 17 & 18. Crews are removing the barrier wall on the Route 60 bridges as part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project Between National Avenue & Kansas Expressway.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Campbell Avenue CLOSED between westbound and eastbound U.S. Route 60 ramps in Springfield, Wednesday & Thursday nights, July 17 & 18
  • Route 60 (James River Freeway) Open in both directions
  • Detours:
    • Northbound Campbell Avenue traffic will be routed to eastbound Route 60
    • Southbound Campbell Avenue traffic will be routed to westbound Route 60
    • Eastbound Route 60 exit ramp to Campbell Avenue will be routed to southbound Campbell Avenue
    • Westbound Route 60 exit ramp to Campbell Avenue will be routed to northbound Campbell Avenue
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers will need to follow the signed detour or seek an alternate route to avoid the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Jefferson City

Total estimated cost: $21 million

  • Intersection Improvements at Campbell Ave are a cost share with the City of Springfield
