JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Work is underway to bring multiple pedestrian facilities into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Construction crews will make improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps, and pavement approaches in five towns across three counties. After completing work in Laclede County, crews now plan to begin improvements in Fayette on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Work zones will be active Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., though some weekend work may be required to complete the project on schedule.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $356,196.70 contract to Concrete Solutions, LLC for this work, which is expected to be completed by Nov. 1, 2024.

Improvements will be made to:

  • Boone County
    • I-70 Outer Road from Business Loop 70 to Beverly Drive.
  • Howard County
    • Route 240 in Fayette from Lucky Street to Walnut Street.
    • Route 5 in New Franklin from Merchant Street to Broadway.
  • Laclede County
    • Route T in Stoutland (complete)
    • Route F in Sleeper (complete)

Once the work in Fayette is complete, they will move on to the next location in a yet-to-be-determined order. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
