MO 291 in Independence will open at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 29

MO 291 from Truman Rd. to U.S. 24 will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 29.

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will OPEN MO 291 from Truman Rd. to U.S. 24 in Independence, MO beginning at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.

The road was closed June 27 as a precaution as crews evaluated a newly formed crack that had developed in the mine under MO 291. Experts completed their evaluation and inspection in the mine and determined the roadway could be reopened to traffic. MoDOT will continue to regularly monitor the mine for any changes.
