JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area July 1 - 7, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
Most routine work zones will be removed for the Independence Day holiday, but some long-term work zones and closures will remain in place. Except for emergencies, work will stop at noon on Wednesday, July 3, and resume the morning of Friday, July 5.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
Boone County
Route M – ADA improvements scheduled to begin July 1 between Chico Drive and Main Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route H – Pavement repair planned July 2 from Rangeline Road to Clinkenbeard Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 163 (Providence Road) – Resurfacing continues from Route K/Old Plank Road north to Interstate 70. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Missouri Route 124 and Route B – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue in the city of Hallsville. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Callaway County
Route H – Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 54 in Fulton. One lane will remain open and temporary traffic signals are in place to guide motorists through the work zone. A 17-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route E – Guardrail replacement and seal coating continue from Route DD to U.S Route 54. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Camden County
U.S. Route 54 – Roadway sweeping from Old Highway 54 in Miller County to 1 miles past Route KK, June 30 – July 2. Work will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Missouri Route 7 – Shoulder work planned from Route AA to Missouri Route 5. One lane will remain open, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. Work will be conducted weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
Route BB – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 to Route 5 in Laclede County. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route DD – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 to the end of state maintenance. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route NN – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 to the end of state maintenance. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route Z – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 to the end of state maintenance. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Cole County
Business U.S. 50 (Missouri Boulevard) – Pavement repair planned July 2 from Hobbs Road to Wildwood Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Cooper County
Missouri Route 41 – Guardrail work planned July 1 - 2 from Clear Springs Drive to Chestnut Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route PP – Pavement repair planned July 1 - 3 from Route 5 to Downey Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the Moniteau Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
I-70 – Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.
Crawford County
Route 19 – Pavement repair continues July 1 - 3 from Winn Road to the city limits of Cuba. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Shoulder work continues July 1 - 3 from Grand Road to McCormick Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 8 – Shoulder work planned July 1 - 3 from Route M to Missouri Route 68. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Shoulder work continues July 1 - 3 from Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route U – Roadside work planned July 1 - 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route VV – Shoulder work continues July 1 - 3 from Route M to Route 19. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route F – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the I-44 overpass. The road is CLOSED to all traffic with a signed detour directing motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.

Route HH – Bridge deck replacement continues at the Dry Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
I-44 – Resurfacing continues from just west of Cuba to the Franklin County line. One lane will remain open. The project, which includes resurfacing, is scheduled for completion in July 2024
Gasconade County
Route 19 - Bridge replacement continues at Frene Creek. The road is CLOSED to all traffic with a signed detour directing motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Missouri Route 100 – Resurfacing begins July 5 from U.S. Route 50 in Osage County to Route N. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Howard County
Route P – Bridge rehabilitation continues at the Bonne Femme Creek Bridge in New Franklin. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Laclede County
Missouri Route 32 – Pavement repair planned July 1 - 3 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Resurfacing continues from Route 7 in Camden County to Route 5. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Route F – Resurfacing continues from Route BB to I-44. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Missouri Route 64 – Bridge replacement continues at the Goodwin Hollow Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2024.
Maries County
Missouri Route 133 – Culvert replacement planned July 1 - 3 just north of Route BB. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Route W – Culvert replacement planned July 1 - 3 between County Road 501 and County Road 502. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Miller County
U.S. Route 54 – Roadway sweeping from Old Highway 54 to 1 miles past Route KK in Camden County, June 30 – July 2. Work will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Route OO – Road resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Morgan County
Routes D, T, AA, MM, OO, WW – Road resurfacing continues. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
Osage County
Routes KK and OO – Pavement repair planned July 1 - 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 100 – Resurfacing begins July 5 from U.S. Route 50 to Route N in Gasconade County. One lane will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2024.
Phelps County
I-44 – Utility work planned July 1 at the Exit 169 overpass. Working under a MoDOT-issued permit, the contractor will close one westbound lane of I-44 from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning.
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge maintenance planned July 1 at Little Piney Creek. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes F, T, P and BB – Pavement repair planned July 1. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes C, J, and CC – Pavement repair planned July 2 - 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue in the city of Rolla from Missouri Route 72 to Lions Club Drive. One lane will remain open in each direction. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
I-44 – Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Little Piney River Bridge, westbound only, near mile marker 174. One lane will remain open, work will be conducted nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2024.
I-44 – Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2024.
Pulaski County
I-44 – Pavement repair planned July 1 at mile marker 167. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route PP – Culvert replacement planned July 2 0.5 miles north of Charity Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Business Loop 44 – Bridge rehabilitation planned over I-44. Crossover construction is scheduled as night work, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., through July 3. Following crossover construction, traffic will shift to a head-to-head configuration and daytime work to rehabilitate the bridges is planned from July 8 through October.
Washington County
Route 8 – Pavement milling planned July 1 - 3 from Missouri Route 21 to the St. Francois County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route A – Bridge replacement continues at the Richwoods Creek Bridge. The road is CLOSED to all traffic and motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
