ST. JOSEPH, – A section of Caldwell County Route D will remain closed until further notice at the Shoal Creek Bridge, west of Kingston. A routine inspection this morning identified bridge deck deterioration, prompting the Missouri Department of Transportation to immediately close the bridge to all traffic.
A project to replace both the Shoal Creek Bridge and Route U Tom Creek Bridge in Caldwell County is scheduled for the December 2025 contractor letting through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan. Motorists will need to utilize an alternate route until the bridge can be replaced and reopened.
