Nightly lane closures on Business Loop I-44 over Interstate 44 in St. Robert

Phelps County bridge rehabilitation to begin, tonight June 24, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Business Loop Interstate 44 over I-44 will have nighttime lane closures beginning Monday, June 24, 2024. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will be working nightly to construct crossovers between the lanes. Once the crossovers are complete, traffic will be shifted to a head-to-head configuration on one bridge, while the other is being rehabilitated. Left turns will be restricted at I-44 off-ramps.

  • Crossover work will take place between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until the crossovers are complete from June 24 – July 3.
  • Eastbound bridge work will take place daily from July 8 – late August.
  • Westbound bridge work will take place from August – October with a traffic switch back to normal by Nov. 1, 2024.

Motorists may experience delays until the bridge rehabilitations are complete late October.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
