ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Route 13 in Caldwell County will close from Route P to Far West Drive for the final stage of a resurfacing project beginning Monday, June 17. Contractors from Phillips Hardy, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to close Route 13 at stage two (Route P to Far West Drive) and reopen at stage three (Far West Drive to Route HH) on Monday, June 17.
Stage two will be the final stage of the project. All work is expected to be complete, and Route 13 fully reopened to traffic by early September 2024.
Crews will still be working on stage three to complete additional items such as edge rock, shoulder work and striping, which may include shoulder and/or lane closures.
Correction work on stage one (Mill Creek Drive to Route P) is expected to continue through mid-July, and traffic will be directed through a one lane closure with flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
A detour will continue to direct motorists on U.S. Route 36, Interstate 35, Route 116 and Route 13 around the closure. The contractor will maintain access for emergency services and homeowners during each stage of construction, however, increased delays should be anticipated.
