HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, a seal coat project located on 6 miles of Route B in Pike County, from U.S. Route 61 at Frankford to Missouri Route 79, is expected to begin as early as June 6.
The $1M contract, awarded last year to W. L. Miller Company of Hamilton, IL, includes an additional seal coat project for 20.7 miles of Route 79 in Pike County, located from 0.9 mile south of U.S. Route 54 east junction, at the Noix Creek bridge at Louisiana, to the Lincoln County line. This project is anticipated to start in early August.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. Flaggers and a pilot car will be utilized to direct motorists through the work zone. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
