JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – A bundle of projects to rehabilitate several Jefferson City bridges and remove a long-closed bridge is planned for construction in 2025. As part of the design process, the Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on the project, including efforts to mitigate traffic impacts, as much as possible. The current plans include lane, ramp, and road closures during construction.
To kick off a two-week comment period, which runs through June 18, MoDOT is hosting an informal open-house-style public meeting tonight, June 4. There is no formal presentation, so attendees may come at any time during the open house – 4:30-6 p.m. – held at the MoDOT Central District office at 1511 Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City. Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and receive input about the project.
If interested parties are unable to attend, tonight’s meeting, there are multiple ways to submit feedback or ask questions:
- Online - All meeting exhibits are available at modot.org/us-route-50-and-us-route-54-bridge-rehabilitation-cole and feedback may be submitted using the form at the bottom of that page.
- By email – Send comments no later than June 18, 2024, to CDCR@modot.mo.gov with the subject line: U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 54 Bridge Rehabilitations in Jefferson City.
- By traditional mail – Comments may be mailed to Missouri Department of Transportation, 1511 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Please reference U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 54 Bridge Rehabilitations in Jefferson City. All mailed comments must be postmarked no later than June 18, 2024.
