JOHNSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing Missouri Highway 2 over Mineral Creek near Leeton starting Mon., June 3 for a bridge replacement. The project is located 2.2 miles east of Missouri Highway 13 and 0.5 miles west of Lee St. in Leeton. A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the closure. Work is anticipated to be completed in August 2024. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
