Closure for bridge reconstruction on I-49 outer road (Peculiar Drive) extended through mid-July

Closure will be in place through mid-July (extended from June 15)

CASS COUNTY – Crews will extend the closure of the I-49 outer road (Peculiar Drive) in both directions from 237th Street to just past the bridge over the East Branch South Grand River through mid-July (extended from June 15). Please note that 237th Street will remain open. This closure is for bridge demolition and reconstruction. All work is weather dependent.

This project was originally scheduled to take place in 2023 and was rescheduled to ensure less road closures for area residents due to a similar closure and bridge reconstruction in the area.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
