St. Clair County – Contractor crews are set to CLOSE the Missouri Route 82 bridge over Sac River at Truman Lake south of Osceola for up to 100 days beginning the week of May 27 to rehabilitate the bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will remove the existing bridge deck/driving surface and replace it with a new surface. The contractor also will install new girders, barrier walls and new permanent striping.
This bridge was built in 1976 and is in deteriorating condition. Approximately 500 vehicles cross the bridge daily.
Traffic Impacts:
- Missouri Route 82 bridge over Sac River at Truman Lake will be CLOSED south of Osceola for up to 100 days
- The Sac River will be CLOSED to boat traffic for up to 80 days
- Drivers will be able to get to driveways and entrances on either side of the bridge, but will not be able to travel across the bridge
- Drivers will be directed along a signed detour using Route 82, Missouri Route 13, and St. Clair County Routes B and E
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
