HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, as early as May 21, pavement grooving work is scheduled to begin on two disconnected sections of Eastbound U.S. Route 36 in Shelby County between 0.3 miles east of Shelbina to 0.8 miles east of Route PP near Lakenan. Once complete, crews will begin on pavement repairs on 32.5 miles of Westbound U.S. 36 from 0.5 miles west of U.S. 24 in Marion County to 0.3 miles west of the Macon County line near Clarence in Shelby County.
At the location where crews are actively working, traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction. Signs, including message boards, will be utilized for traffic control and alerts such as schedule changes. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
The $5.1M contract was awarded to Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. of Columbia, Missouri, earlier this year.
