MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Left Turn Lanes CLOSED at Campbell Avenue to U.S. Route 60

Where: Left turn lanes CLOSED at Campbell Avenue to U.S. Route 60 in Springfield

When: Tuesday, May 28 until Friday, June 21

What: Contractor will CLOSE the left turn lanes at north and southbound Campbell Avenue to U.S. Route 60 in both directions. Campbell Avenue will remain 3 lanes wide in both directions. Southbound Campbell Avenue will be reduced to 10-foot lanes. This work is part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project Between National Avenue & Kansas Expressway.

Traffic Impacts:

  • North and southbound Campbell Avenue left turn lanes CLOSED to U.S. Route 60 in Springfield
  • Campbell Avenue and Route 60 (James River Freeway) Open
  • Eastbound and westbound Route 60 ramps open at Campbell Avenue
  • Southbound Campbell Avenue reduced to 10-foot lanes under Route 60
  • Barrier walls, crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers will need to follow the signed detour or seek an alternate route to avoid the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Jefferson City

Total estimated cost: $21 million

  • Intersection Improvements at Campbell Ave are a cost share with the City of Springfield
