UPDATED lane and ramp closures for bridge joint maintenance at SB I-435 and Front Street, NOW-May 12

Crews will close two lanes on SB I-435 near Front St., April 27-28. Phase II work begins April 29.

 
JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will complete phase one and begin phase two of lane and ramp closures on SB I-435 at Front Street for bridge joint maintenance on (approximately) April 29. This project will be completed by (approximately) May 12.
*Please note the following additions to Phase I work below for April 27-28.

UPDATED - Phase I – NOW - Sunday, April 28

  • Crews will close the right lane of I-435 SB over Front Street. Motorists will be able to use the front street ramp to access I-435 SB, and the left two lanes of I-435 across the bridge.
  • NEW: Crews will close two lanes on SB I-435 over bridge over Gardner Rd. (near Front St.) and over the CPKC Railway from approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 until approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 28
  • Ramp from Front St to SB I-435 to remain OPEN during this work.

Phase II BEGINS Monday, April 29 – Sunday, May 12 (approximately)

  • Crews will close one lane on SB I-435 over Front Street. The ramp from Front Street to SB I-435 will be CLOSED, motorists will notice a traffic shift when crossing over the railroad. (April 29th to May 12th)

* Detour from Front Street: I-435 NB to MO Route 210, turn around and head south on SB I-435.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and be vigilant of work in the area. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
