St. Louis Work Zones April 4-10

ST. LOUIS – In St. Louis County, drivers who use Interstate 270 between Ladue Road and Interstate 64 should be aware that congestion levels in the area will rise significantly as work to replace an interstate bridge over Conway Road moves into a new stage next week.

Crews will close up to three lanes on northbound and southbound I-270 Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to grind out rumble strips and remove lane stripes.  Next week, weather permitting, crews will narrow lanes on the interstate, Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12. Work starts each night at 9 p.m. in both directions between I-64 and Olive Boulevard.  Up to three lanes will be closed overnight to allow crews to restripe narrower lanes on the interstate. The narrowed lanes will open by 5 a.m. the following morning.

When lanes reopen Saturday, April 13, crews will close one northbound lane between Interstate 64 and Ladue Road. One northbound lane will remain closed through the remainder of the two-year project; crews will keep three northbound lanes open.

In St. Charles County, drivers traveling on westbound Interstate 70 at Route 79 can expect possible delays during a weekend bridge rehabilitation project. All work is weather permitting.

Starting Friday, April 5 at 9 p.m., crews will close one middle lane of westbound I-70 at Route 79. Each night, between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning, crews will close a second middle lane. At least two westbound lanes will always remain open along this section of I-70 at Route 79.  Westbound drivers wishing to exit at Route 79 must be in the far-right lane. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, April 8.
