JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Contractors are diamond grinding a portion of westbound Interstate 44 in Phelps County, which will provide for a smoother ride for motorists. The project will close some ramps in the area between Rolla and Doolittle beginning tonight.
All work is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Below is the planned progression of work, which could be delayed or postponed due to weather:
- Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 – the on and off-ramps at Doolittle (Exit 179).
- Wednesday, April 3 and Thursday, April 4 – the on and off-ramps at the rest area and truck parking.
- Friday, April 5 – the off-ramp at Sugar Tree Road (Exit 176).
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones.
