TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic Shifted Head-to-Head on Route 96/571 in Carthage April 7-9

Where: Missouri Route 96/571 (Central Avenue) between Baker Boulevard and Francis Street

When: Sunday, April 7 through Tuesday, April 9

What: Contractor crews for the city of Carthage will be working on a sewer line

Traffic impacts:

  • Route 96/571 (Central Avenue) shifted head-to-head in the eastbound lanes between Baker Boulevard and Francis Street
  • Center turn lanes CLOSED in both directions
  • No left turns allowed
  • Access will be maintained to all businesses on Route 96/571 (Central Avenue)
  • No signed detour
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes to avoid work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
