JEFFERSON COUNTY – Motorists who use 3rd Street under I-55 in the city of Festus should be aware of a temporary closure.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close 3rd Street between Cromwell Road and Holly Drive weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 21 through Friday, April 5. The road and sidewalk will also close during that time.
The maintenance work includes routine inspections and repairs to enhance the longevity of the bridge. Residents, pedestrians, and local businesses are advised to plan alternate routes and allow for additional travel time.
