UPDATE: Resurfacing Work begins on Missouri Route 129 in Macon County

See scheduling changes below in bold.

HANNIBAL - As early as May 6, weather permitting, contractor crews and the Missouri Department of Transportation will start work on a resurfacing project on Missouri Route 129 in Macon County from U.S. Route 36, near New Cambria, to the Chariton County line. All work is anticipated to be completed by mid-May.

Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction in place where crews are actively working. Flaggers and a pilot car will be used to direct traffic through the work zone. For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

The $731,123 contract was awarded to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC.

Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to  pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you leave to see any work zones you may encounter.
