ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use Germania near I-55 in the city of St. Louis should be aware of a long-term closure starting this week.
Crews will close Germania under the interstate, starting Wednesday, March 13 at 9 a.m. to remove the deck from the southbound I-55 bridge over Germania. The road will be closed around the clock for a month. The River Des Peres Trail will remain open at this time. A shorter closure of the trail for four to five days will be necessary in this window to provide safety during the deck removal of the bridge above the trail. Details will be released closer to the proposed trail closure.
Drivers who typically use Germania can detour around the closure using Alabama, and River Des Peres/River City Casino Boulevard.
