JACKSON COUNTY – Permit work for fiber optic cable repair will require lane closures and rolling stops on northbound and southbound U.S. 71 near the 51st Street bridge overpass. Lane closures and rolling stops will take place from 7:00 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. (approximately 15 minutes), on Sunday, March 10. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department (KCPD) will be on scene to assist with traffic control. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
