ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Herzog Contracting Corp. for a project that will resurface routes in Andrew and Buchanan counties beginning Tuesday, March 5. These include portions of Buchanan County Loop 29 (Pear Street), Andrew County U.S. Route 59, and Buchanan County Missouri Route 752.
Crews plan to resurface the routes in the following order:
- Pear street from U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) to 22nd Street
- S. Route 59 from Business U.S. 71 to Country Club Road
- Route 752 from 22nd Street to Route 59
During construction all routes will be reduced to one lane. Traffic on Pear Street will be directed by a pilot car during resurfacing. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone, or before entering the work zone from a side road. Flaggers will be used to direct motorists through the side street intersections of the work zones on Routes 59 and 752.
All work is expected take place Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. An 11-foot width restriction will be in place daily. This project is scheduled to be completed by mid-April.
