JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will CLOSE all lanes of northbound I-435 at Truman Rd. (MO Route 12) and the exit ramp from NB I-435 to Truman Rd. from approximately 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., TODAY, Thursday, Jan. 25.
This closure will begin just past NB I-435 and 23rd Street. This closure is for the emergency removal of an overhead sign truss that was struck recently. This work should be short in duration and once the work is completed, NB I-435 and the ramp to Truman Rd. will be re-opened.
There will not be a signed detour in place. Missouri State Highway Patrol will be on scene during the closure to assist with traffic control. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and take an alternative route.
Motorists who must travel on NB I-435 during the closure are reminded to drive carefully, avoid breaking suddenly, and adjust their driving to the traffic conditions. Southbound I-435 will still be OPEN during this time.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
