Barton County – Contractor crews are set to CLOSE Barton County Route W over East Dry Fork Creek northwest of Lamar for up to 160 days beginning the week of January 15 to replace two box culverts, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will remove the existing culverts and replace them with new ones. The contractor also will install new guardrail, object markers and new permanent striping.
Both culverts were installed in 1939 and are in deteriorating condition. Approximately 90 vehicles cross the culverts daily.
Traffic Impacts:
- Route W CLOSED over East Fork Dry Creek northwest of Lamar for up to 160 days
- Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances on either side of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through it
- No signed detour
- Drivers should seek alternate routes to avoid work zone
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impact
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
