Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Congratulates Two New Members

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission congratulates Daniel Hegeman of St. Joseph and Francis Slay of St. Louis on their recent appointments by Gov. Mike Parson as commissioners.

“We welcome and look forward to working with our two newest members, Dan Hegeman and Francis Slay, and all the experience and knowledge they’ll bring to this esteemed commission,” said Commission Chairman Terry Ecker.

Hegeman and Slay replace Brian Treece of Columbia and Robert Brinkmann of Defiance.

“We thank both Brian Treece and Robert Brinkmann for their service on behalf of all Missourians in their role as commissioner,” said Ecker. “We express our appreciation for the leadership of Mr. Brinkmann, who served as chairman of the commission and was the first commissioner to chair the executive committee of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety. In his time on the commission and in these roles, he focused tireless efforts on employee safety and public safety.”

Mr. Hegeman currently serves as senior community business manager at Evergy and co-owner of Hegeman Farm, Inc. He serves as the chairman of the St. Joseph Metropolitan Planning Organization and is a board member and former chairman of Second Harvest Food Bank, as well as a former Missouri State senator and representative.

Mr. Slay currently serves as executive director for the St. Louis Regional Crime Commission. He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and previously served as Mayor of the City of St. Louis for 16 years.
