Maries County Route P reopens at Lanes Fork Creek

Bridge closed Oct. 23 for rehabilitation work

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Lanes Fork Creek Bridge on Route P in Maries County is now open. Construction crews completed the rehabilitation work, and the bridge reopened to all traffic on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023.

Crews from Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route P over Lanes Fork Creek on Oct. 23, 2023, to replace the bridge deck. The supporting structures of the bridge, built in 1967, are in good condition but the driving surface had deteriorated and needed to be replaced.

Two other Maries County bridges are bundled with this project:

  • The Missouri Route 28 Dry Fork Creek Bridge is currently closed for replacement. A signed detour is in place. The roadway is expected to reopen in April 2024.
  • The Maries County Route C bridge over Peavine Creek will close for rehabilitation after the new Dry Fork Creek Bridge is open to traffic. This final bridge in the bundle is expected to be completed by June 1, 2024.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
