U.S. Hwy 50 in Lee's Summit closing for emergency bridge work overnight on Friday, Dec. 8

Closure will take place from Hwy 291 south to Hwy 291 north

JACKSON COUNTY – All lanes of U.S. Highway 50 eastbound and westbound will be closed between MO Highway 291 south to MO Highway 291 north in Lee’s Summit from 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, until 5 a.m. Saturday Dec. 9, for emergency bridge work by Union Pacific Railroad. A signed detour will be in place.  

  • 50 WB -Traffic will be directed onto 291 north to Blue Parkway back to U.S. 50
  • 50 EB - Traffic will be directed onto Jefferson street to Blue Parkway back to U.S. 50

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
