KDOT schedules overnight closures of WB I-70 and I-35/I-70 in Kansas City, MO, Dec. 5-6

A Kansas Department of Transportation maintenance project will require an overnight short-term closure of westbound I-70 and the northbound I-35 to westbound I-70 ramp in Missouri on Tuesday, Dec. 5, to erect a sign truss over westbound I-70 in Kansas City, Kan. All work is weather permitting.

The following will be fully closed to traffic from Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. to Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 5 a.m.:

  • Westbound I-70 at Broadway Boulevard;
  • Northbound I-35 to westbound I-70 ramp.

During the scheduled closures, the westbound I-70 to Broadway Boulevard exit ramp will remain open. Traffic will be detoured around closures using westbound I-670 and the downtown loop.

Traffic will be controlled using full highway and ramp closures, changeable message boards, channelizers and barricades.

Message boards have been placed in the area to alert motorists to upcoming work and closures.

Collins and Hermann, of St. Louis, Mo., is the contractor for the truss installation work.
