Gentry County YY bridge replacement project to begin in December

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Bear Creek Bridge on Gentry County Route YY is scheduled to be replaced beginning next month. The bridge that closed in January 2023 due to structural deterioration will be replaced by Gene Haile Excavating, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation. Crews plan to begin working on the bridge on Monday, Dec. 4.

During construction, the roadway will remain closed. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during the closures. All work is scheduled to be complete by the end of April 2024.
